Our Customer's "Right to Privacy" Policy

Our commitment to you:

We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of the information you share with us. You trust us with your personal and financial information, and we honor that trust by handling your information carefully and sensibly. This notice will help you understand how we safeguard and use information.

Security Standards

Mohawk Internet continually updates and improves its security standards and procedures to help protect against anyone gaining unauthorized access to your confidential information. For this reason please understand that a phone call alone is insufficient to request changes to your account. *FOR YOUR PROTECTION WE REQUIRE WRITTEN INSRUCTIONS OR CONFIRMATION BEFORE WE CAN MODIFY OR DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT. We may collect or log usage information. We analyze the information to improve our online service. We do not sell lists or individual customer information ever! In those few cases where we outsource work such as our New York State dial up system, no customer data is provided to the outsource company. The only time we do exchange certain information about our customers is when it is necessary to use certain credit reporting agencies in such cases where it is legally required. This only happens when/if other means of collecting monies owed have been unsuccessful.

Email Addresses

If you do not use the provided email address (yourname@mohakwk.net) as your primary email address then you need to provide us with the address you do use. We email all notices and/or any anticipated outages to you along with any product and service updates. We also post the same message on our web site.

Cookies

You’ll notice this term used across the Internet to describe a small piece of information sent by a web server to be stored on your computer by your Internet browser. Mohawk Internet may use “cookies” to help us recognize you and serve you when you visit our site. We do not use cookies to get data from you hard drive or to get email address or personal identifying information. Please note, however, that by not accepting cookies you may limit the functionality we can provide when you visit our site.

IP Address.

When you enter Mohawk.net, you pass through a “firewall” we use for security purposes. As you pass through it, we identify the Internet Protocol (IP) address associated with the device you’re using, such as a personal computer or handheld device. The IP address does not identify you personally, but it does allow Mohawk Internet to identify the device you are using. We store IP addresses in case we ever need to track a connection to its point of origin for security reasons. Normally, we have automatically assigned the IP address to you, but if you were to access Mohawk from a Non-Mohawk user’s machine we do capture that IP in our logs.
